What is cognitive behaviour therapy?

It is an evidenced based psychological therapy for mental health problems and psychological difficulties such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It works by targeting anxiety/depressive symptoms by assisting clients to identify the thought processes and behaviours that are causing and maintaining their emotional distress. With the guidance of a therapist the client is assisted to challenge their underlying dysfunctional thought patterns, identify adaptive thought processes, and behaviours that can alter their perception of distress.

Most of my therapy can be offered either as a face to face session or remotely if there are transportation or illness issues that you are unable to attend clinic. These remote sessions would be carried out via a secure and confidential video link.
