Assessment and Psychological Support for Adults and Adolescents
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced based psychological therapy for mental health problems and psychological difficulties such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It works by targeting anxiety/depressive symptoms by assisting clients to identify the thought processes and behaviours that are causing and maintaining their emotional distress. With the guidance of a therapist the client is assisted to challenge their underlying dysfunctional thought patterns, identify adaptive thought processes, and behaviours that can alter their perception of distress.
